Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy claimed on Wednesday that the people have given a mandate to the Congress in the Assembly elections and alleged that the BRS is plotting to destabilize his government.
Revanth predicted that the BRS would not return to power in the state, stating, “People voted against the BRS in the Lok Sabha elections as well, denying it even a single seat. BRS leaders should understand the sentiments of the Telangana populace.”
He accused BRS leaders of obstructing every initiative undertaken by his government, urging KCR (former chief minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao) to come to the Assembly to speak or provide suggestions instead of opposing government decisions from outside.
The Chief Minister made these remarks while addressing 11,062 teachers at LB Stadium in Hyderabad, where they received appointment letters after being selected through DSC-2024.
Revanth described KCR as a “demon” for neglecting teacher recruitment over the past decade. He noted, “During BRS rule, the DSC notification was issued only once in 2017, with recruitment occurring in 2019. In contrast, my government has filled 11,062 teaching positions within 66 days of the examination, with 21,000 teachers promoted and around 34,000 transferred transparently.”
He further criticized the previous administration for failing to fill vacancies in the government sector while favoring BRS leaders instead. “In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, people defeated Vinod Kumar in Karimnagar and Kalvakuntla Kavitha in Nizamabad. Yet, within six months of their defeat, Vinod Kumar was appointed vice-chairman of the Telangana State Planning Board, and Kavitha was elected as an MLC. KCR has rehabilitated them with coveted positions while ignoring the job needs of the masses,” the Chief Minister charged.
Focus on Quality Education in Government Schools
Revanth expressed concern about the lack of enrollment in government schools, stating, “While 24 lakh students are studying in 30,000 government schools, 34 lakh are enrolled in 10,000 private schools. Parents are hesitant to send their children to government institutions, with even the poor opting for private education. This needs to change, and teachers must consider this situation.”
He announced that the government is establishing Integrated Residential Schools to provide quality education up to international standards. “We are upgrading ITIs to ATCs. Each year, 110,000 engineers graduate, yet many struggle to find jobs. A Skill University has been established to prepare them for employment,” the Chief Minister concluded.
