Telangana CM Revanth and team arrive in Delhi to seek approval for Cabinet expansion

HYDERABAD: Following the appointment of a new president for the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC), Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and other state Congress leaders traveled to New Delhi on Wednesday to seek the high command's approval for several key matters. These include the long-awaited Cabinet expansion and the formation of new TPCC committees.
In addition to pursuing these appointments, the Chief Minister is expected to meet with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other Union ministers to discuss the recent devastating floods' impact on the state and request funds for development and welfare projects.
Joining Revanth Reddy in Delhi are the newly appointed TPCC president B. Mahesh Kumar Goud and Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar. Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka is also anticipated to travel to Delhi on Thursday.
The sudden decision by the Chief Minister to visit Delhi, including the cancellation of a scheduled meeting, has sparked speculation about potential changes within the ruling party. Sources indicate that Mahesh Kumar Goud has compiled a list of around 200 names for office-bearer positions.
There is significant interest in the appointment of working presidents following the campaign committee chairman's post, which T. Jayaprakash Reddy (alias Jagga Reddy) is favored for. Multiple candidates are vying for the working president roles, including senior leaders such as MP Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy, ZP chairperson Saritha Tirupataiah, Addanki Dayakar, Adluri Laxman, Ch. Vamshi Chand Reddy, and Balram Naik.
For the six vacant ministerial positions, contenders include P. Sudharshan Reddy, Malreddy Ranga Reddy, Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy, V. Srihari, G. Vivek, N. Balu Naik, Adluri Laxman, and K. Premsagar Rao, among others.
