Tragic End to a Fun Swimming Trip: Young Female Doctor Drowns in Tungabhadra River
The recreational trip turned into a tragedy for a group of women doctors when one of them went missing while swimming. Despite rescue teams springing into action, it was too late, and they were only able to recover her body. This incident took place near the Tungabhadra River in Koppal district, Karnataka. The deceased was Ananya Rao, a 27-year-old doctor from Hyderabad.
Ananya Rao loved swimming. She went on a trip to Hampi with her friends Sathwin and Hashitha. After touring the local tourist spots, they stayed at a guest house in Nanapur village on Tuesday night. On Wednesday afternoon, they went to the Tungabhadra River for a swim. Ananya, who was fond of swimming, jumped from a height of 25 feet into the river. Witnesses reported that the water current was strong, and it swept her away.
Immediately, rescue teams jumped into the water and searched for her throughout the night, but their efforts were unsuccessful. On Thursday morning, her body was recovered. Videos of Ananya Rao jumping into the water have been circulating online.
