KADAPA: On Thursday, a video showing a woman being tied to a tree and assaulted with brooms and eggs went viral on social media. The incident took place in Shikarupalem village, Veeraballi mandal, Annamayya district.
According to local reports, Manohar, who lived in the village with his wife Vijaya Lakshmi and their two daughters, had previously sold fake jewelry. Five months ago, he left his family for another woman named Chinni. Recently, he returned to the village with Chinni.
Upon discovering their return, Vijaya, her mother, and several other women dragged Chinni from her home, tied her to a tree, and attacked her. Manohar then took Chinni to a hospital in Rayachoti for treatment before marrying her.
Following the video's circulation, Veeraballi SI Chandramohan confirmed that a case has been filed against Vijaya and six other women based on Chinni’s complaint, and an investigation is ongoing.
