In Andhra Pradesh's Anantapur district, unidentified persons indulged in the atrocity. The thugs set fire to the green crop which they thought would be available in a few days. Pomegranate plantation spread over 25 acres was set on fire by unknown persons . The horrific incident took place in Elanji village of Bommanhal mandal in the district on Tuesday night.
Farmers Muralikrishna, Renuka, Varalakshmi and Baburao are cultivating pomegranate in 25 acres. Recently, the harvest has also started. In this order, unknown persons set fire to the grass in the garden on Tuesday night. A grass fire broke out and the 25-acre garden caught fire and the entire crop was completely destroyed.

మంగళవారం రాత్రి జిల్లాలోని బొమ్మనహాల్ మండలంలోని ఏళంజి గ్రామంలో ఈ దారుణ ఘటన జరిగింది. మురళీకృష్ణ, రేణుక, వరలక్ష్మి, బాబురావు అనే రైతులు 25 ఎకరాల్లో దానిమ్మ సాగు చేస్తున్నారు. ఇటీవలే పంట కాపుకు కూడా వచ్చింది. ఈ క్రమంలోనే గుర్తు తెలియని వ్యక్తులు మంగళవారం రాత్రి తోటలోని గడ్డికి నిప్పుపెట్టారు. గడ్డికి పెట్టిన నిప్పు చెలరేగి 25 ఎకరాల్లోని తోటకు మంటలు అంటుకుని పంటంతా పూర్తిగా దద్దమైపోయింది.
