On the one hand, rising electricity prices are keeping people awake, on the other hand, the electricity department staff are causing more concern by charging bills in crores. Current bills are being charged in lakhs even for poor huts. Recently, a panchayat office received an electricity bill of 11 crores 41 lakhs for one month. The panchayat sarpanch was shocked to see this bill. He immediately grabbed the bill and ran to the officials of the electricity department.
The concerned AE who examined the bill said that the bill was so heavy due to a technical error and promised to re-check the meter and issue the bill again. The sarpanch breathed a sigh of relief. The villagers were surprised to know about this bill. Due to this blow, they were worried about how many crores were in the bills they received. This incident took place in Kothapalli village panchayat of Kamareddy district.

ఓ వైపు పెరుగుతున్న విద్యుత్‌ ధరలు జనాలను నిద్రపోనివ్వకుండా చేస్తుంటే.. మరో వైపు కోట్లలో బిల్లులు కొడుతూ మరింత ఆందోళనకు గురిచేస్తున్నారు విద్యుత్‌ శాఖ సిబ్బంది. పూరిగుడిసెలకు కూడా లక్షల్లో కరెంట్‌ బిల్లులు వేస్తున్నారు. తాజాగా ఓ పంచాయితీ కార్యాలయానికి ఒక్క నెలకు గాను 11 కోట్ల 41 లక్షల విద్యుత్‌ బిల్లు వచ్చింది. ఈ బిల్లు చూసి సదరు పంచాయితీ సర్పంచ్ షాక్‌ తిన్నారు. వెంటనే ఆ బిల్లు పట్టుకుని విద్యుత్‌ శాఖ అధికారుల వద్దకు పరుగు తీశారు.
ఆ బిల్లు పరిశీలించిన సంబంధిత ఏఈ, సాంకేతిక తప్పిదం వల్లే బిల్లు అంత భారీగా వచ్చిందని, మీటర్ ను మరోసారి చెక్ చేసి, తిరిగి మళ్లీ బిల్లు జారీ చేస్తామని హామీ ఇచ్చారు. దాంతో సర్పంచ్ ఊపిరి పీల్చుకున్నారు. ఈ బిల్లు గురించి తెలుసుకున్న గ్రామస్థులు ఆశ్చర్యపోయారు. ఈ దెబ్బతో తమకు వచ్చిన బిల్లుల్లో ఎన్ని కోట్లు ఉన్నాయోనని బెంబేలెత్తిపోయారు. ఈ ఘటన కామారెడ్డి జిల్లా కొత్తపల్లి గ్రామ పంచాయితీలో జరిగింది.
