After a long wait, Indian-American astronaut Sunita Williams and astronaut Butch Wilmore were welcomed by dolphins as they arrived on Earth. Sunita, Wilmore, along with two other astronauts, Nick Hague and Russian cosmonaut Alexander Gerst, landed this morning off the coast of Florida aboard the Crew Dragon capsule. Immediately upon landing, dolphins were seen swimming around the capsule as if greeting them.
As NASA personnel worked to retrieve the capsule from the ocean and lift it onto a boat, dolphins gathered around the capsule. After the astronauts were safely removed from the capsule, they were transported to NASA's Johnson Space Center in Houston, where they will undergo a 45-day rehabilitation program.
