Singer Kalpana Responds to Suicide Attempt Reports

Famous singer Kalpana has spoken out about reports saying she tried to take her own life. She explained that the incident was not a suicide attempt but an overdose of sleeping pills because of stress from disagreements with her daughter.

According to the Kukatpally Housing Board police, Kalpana said there was no foul play. The police confirmed that the overdose of sleeping pills caused her to lose consciousness.

Kalpana has been living in Hyderabad with her husband for five years. There have been ongoing conflicts between Kalpana and her daughter, Daya Prasad, about her education. Kalpana had been staying alone at home, and her husband, Prasad, was unable to contact her. Worried, he contacted the colony welfare members.

The welfare members then called the emergency services (Dial 100). When they couldn’t open the door, they entered from the back kitchen door and found Kalpana unconscious. She was quickly taken to the hospital for treatment.
