Officials said on January 10 that they are running special trains via Vijayawada for the Sankranti festival in view of the rush of passengers. No. 07571 Secunderabad-Kakinada Town special train will run on January 12, and No. 07573/07574 Kakinada Town-Tirupati train will run on 13th and 14th of this month. పండక్కి ఊరెళ్లే వారికి ఎన్ని రైళ్లు వేసినా అన్నింటిలోనూ రద్దీ నెలకొంది. గత మూడేళ్లతో పోల్చితే ఈసారి నాలుగు నెలలు ముందుగానే రిజర్వేషన్‌ టికెట్లన్నీ బుక్‌ అయ్యాయి. తెలంగాణ, ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్‌ రాష్ట్రాల మధ్య రాకపోకలు భారీగా పెరడంతో అన్ని ఎక్స్‌ప్రెస్‌ రైళ్లలోనూ ఇదే పరిస్థితి నెలకొంది. వెయిటింగ్ లిస్ట్‌ పెద్ద సంఖ్యలో దర్శనమిస్తోంది. సంక్రాంతికి వేసిన స్పెషల్‌ ట్రైన్ల పరిస్థితి కూడా ఇలాగే ఉంది. విజయవాడ నుంచి విశాఖపట్నం, సికింద్రాబాద్‌, చెన్నై, బెంగళూరు మార్గాల్లో నడిచే చాలా రైళ్లలో వెయిటింగ్ లిస్టు టికెట్లు కూడా అయిపోయాయి. డిమాండ్‌ అధికంగా ఉండే విజయవాడ మార్గాల్లో మరిన్ని రైళ్లను నడపాలని ప్రయాణికులు రైల్వే శాఖను కోరుతున్నారు.
సాధారణంగా పండగ సీజన్లో విజయవాడల నుంచి 3 లక్షలకుపైగా ప్రయాణిస్తుంటారు. మిగిలిన రోజుల్లో లక్షన్నర వరకు ఉంటారు. దీంతో ఈ సంక్రాంతికి ప్రయాణికులు తత్కాల్‌ టికెట్లపైనే ఆశలు పెట్టుకున్నారు. ప్రయాణికుల రద్దీ దృష్ట్యా సంక్రాంతి పండగకు విజయవాడ మీదగా ప్రత్యేక రైళ్లు నడుపుతున్నట్లు అధికారులు జనవరి 10న తెలిపారు. నెంబరు 07571 సికింద్రాబాద్‌-కాకినాడ టౌన్‌ ప్రత్యేక రైలు జనవరి 12న, నెంబరు 07573/07574 కాకినాడ టౌన్‌-తిరుపతి రైలు ఈనెల 13, 14 తేదీల్లో రాకపోకలు సాగిస్తాయని వెల్లడించారు. మరోవైపు ఆర్టీసీలోనూ ఇదే పరిస్థితి నెలకొంది.
