OpenAI has expanded its 'AI Agent' service to more countries, aiming to boost AI-driven automation. The company shared this update on the social media platform X. These AI Agents, designed to act as virtual assistants, can autonomously carry out online tasks based on user instructions.
Initially available only to ChatGPT Pro users in the U.S., the AI Agent service is now offered in Australia, Brazil, Canada, India, Singapore, South Korea, and the UK. However, users in certain European countries, including Switzerland, Norway, Liechtenstein, and Iceland, will have to wait for access.
OpenAI CEO Sam Altman previously noted that AI Agents could handle tasks typically performed by software engineers. However, he emphasized that these AI tools are limited to executing specific tasks and lack independent reasoning abilities. While they may not fully replace software engineers, Altman acknowledged their potential to have a significant impact on the industry.
