MP Rajender supports protesters opposing housing demolitions

HYDERABAD: Malkajgiri MP Eatala Rajender voiced his support for families affected by housing demolitions during a protest in Chaitanyapuri on Friday.
Standing in solidarity with the protesters, Rajender urged authorities not to demolish homes that have existed for years, emphasizing that many homeowners are still paying EMIs on their properties. “It’s unjust to replace these homes with double-bedroom units costing lakhs,” he remarked.
He criticized the state government for targeting the poor and warned that such actions could lead to its downfall. Rajender also condemned HYDRAA for carrying out demolitions on weekends, accusing them of preventing victims from seeking legal help. "The state government is behaving worse than the Nizam rulers," he added.
The MP called on the government to stop disrupting lives and pledged to bring the issue of Musi demolitions to the Centre’s attention. Addressing Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, Rajender said, “You were elected to serve the people, not to oppress them.”
