Mohanlal’s Thudakkam Movie Races Ahead with Super Collections

Thudakkam, starring Malayalam superstar Mohanlal, was released on 25th of this month and is getting a super hit talk from audiences. Without much promotion, the film is performing strongly with house full collections. The movie is winning the hearts of fans across languages.

Just a few weeks ago, Mohanlal’s blockbuster ‘Empuraan’, directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran, was released on 27th of last month and collected over ₹200 crore worldwide, becoming an all-time industry hit. Now, within a month, Thudakkam has also hit the theatres.

Directed by Tarun Murthy, the film stars Shobana alongside Mohanlal. The movie started receiving positive response right from the first show. Advance ticket bookings started just two days before release and saw huge demand. On BookMyShow, over 35,000 tickets were sold per hour, even more than Empuraan. The movie was released in Telugu one day after its Malayalam release and is doing well despite having no promotions. Among a dozen Telugu films released last Friday, Thudakkam stood out with strong word-of-mouth and full shows. The gripping story, Mohanlal's acting, and Shobana's performance are pulling crowds, even in Kerala where it’s making record-level collections.
