Hyderabad:On Monday, BRS MLA T. Harish Rao accused Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy of fabricating issues and spreading falsehoods in the Assembly when faced with difficult situations.
In an informal discussion with reporters, Harish Rao criticized the Chief Minister for failing to be a role model and for misleading the Assembly about the installation of meters on agricultural motors. He claimed that Revanth Reddy presented incorrect information and read from the UDAY scheme document, which was unrelated to the issue of agriculture meters.
Harish Rao also announced that his party would file a privilege motion against the Chief Minister.
Responding to allegations from Revanth Reddy regarding BRS ministers' silence during the expansion of the Pothireddypadu project under the YS Rajasekhara Reddy regime, Harish Rao clarified that BRS ministers had resigned prior to the issuance of the GO on Pothireddypadu.
He further criticized Revanth Reddy’s claim of being a champion of Telangana, stating that BRS MLAs resigned for the cause of a separate Telangana while Revanth did not. Harish Rao dismissed Revanth’s portrayal of himself as a champion, likening it to "a devil preaching gospel."
Harish Rao also questioned the Congress’s current stance on the LRS (Land Regularization Scheme), pointing out that while Congress leaders Komatireddy Venkat Reddy and N. Uttam Kumar Reddy had previously demanded LRS be implemented without fees, they are now silent about the current government's decision to charge a fee.
He refuted Revanth Reddy’s claim that the BRS has lost its relevance, noting that despite the Congress’s poor performance in the recent Lok Sabha elections, this does not necessarily indicate its loss of significance. Additionally, Harish Rao highlighted the discrepancy between the Chief Minister’s announcement of a Rs 31,000 crore requirement for crop loan waivers and the Rs 25,000 crore actually allocated in the Budget.
