Medaram Mini Jatara Begins in Mulugu District
The Medaram Mini Jatara, dedicated to Sammakka and Saralamma, started today in Medaram, Mulugu district. This event takes place every two years between the larger Medaram Maha Jatara and will run until February 15. The festival began with the Mandamelige Panduga today, followed by Mandamelige Pujas on Thursday. Devotees will fulfill their vows on Friday, and the Chinna Jatara (Mini Jatara) is scheduled for Saturday. The government has set aside ₹5.3 crore for the event’s arrangements.
Devotees from Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, and Madhya Pradesh have already started arriving in large numbers. The Medaram region is bustling with pilgrims seeking darshan of the forest deities. Authorities have made comprehensive arrangements to manage the crowd and ensure smooth participation in the rituals and celebrations.
