Law and Order Essential for Good Governance Says CM Chandrababu Naidu

VIJAYAWADA: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu emphasized that maintaining law and order is essential for effective governance. Speaking at a joint session with District Collectors and Superintendents of Police at the Secretariat on Monday, Naidu stressed that good governance cannot be achieved without a strong law and order system.
Naidu asserted his commitment to upholding the law and ensuring that mistakes, including those by TDP leaders, will be addressed. He underscored the importance of visible policing and a robust police system.
In response to a PowerPoint presentation by Director General of Police Ch. Dwaraka Tirumala Rao, Naidu pledged to investigate past errors and hold offenders accountable. He criticized the previous YSRC government for misusing technology and police resources to target political opponents rather than addressing crime effectively.
Naidu highlighted the surge in issues such as drug abuse, crimes against women, and cybercrime, and called for rigorous action to combat these problems. He also announced plans for a new liquor policy that will include both international and national brands, emphasizing that proper law and order is crucial for creating wealth and ensuring public health. He stressed the need for improved coordination between Collectors and SPs to achieve these goals.
