Chittoor: Kuppam Constituency Set for Significant Economic and Developmental Boost
The Chittoor district administration is launching an ambitious plan to transform Kuppam constituency, represented by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, into a model area through a series of strategic development initiatives.
Under the leadership of District Collector Sumit Kumar, efforts are underway to address long-standing issues and enhance local economy, infrastructure, and education. The development drive began with a Public Grievance Redressal Forum at the MPDO office in Kuppam.
Collector Kumar assured residents that all grievances would be resolved within 15 days, with a commitment to addressing both mandal and district-level issues promptly. He also pledged to visit Kuppam every 15 days to oversee progress and ensure timely resolution of concerns. The forum provided a platform for discussing a wide range of issues, including revenue problems, social pensions, housing, and infrastructure.
Plans to improve educational infrastructure in Kuppam include the establishment of a Kendriya Vidyalaya and a Krishi Vigyan Kendra, aiming to position Kuppam as an educational hub.
In addition to education, the administration is focusing on enhancing the local agricultural sector. During a visit to Cheldiganipalle in Ramakuppam mandal, Collector Kumar and Kuppam Area Development Authority (KADA) Project Director Vikas Marmat inspected a site for a new tomato processing unit. This state-funded unit, with an investment of Rs 8.42 crore, will provide 100% financial assistance to tomato farmers, offering significant support and new market opportunities.
Moreover, the district administration is exploring mango processing opportunities. Collector Kumar met with representatives from Kevin Care to discuss establishing a mango processing unit in Kuppam. This venture is expected to capitalize on the region’s abundant mango production, boosting the local economy and creating employment opportunities.
KADA Project Director Vikas Marmat emphasized the need for coordinated efforts from officials. In a recent review meeting at the Kuppam tahsildar’s office, Marmat instructed officials to develop comprehensive plans for the constituency, including addressing issues at the AP Model School in Agaram, Gudipalli mandal.
With these initiatives, Kuppam is on track to become a model constituency, setting a benchmark for progress and development in the State.
