Under the guidance of IPAC, the YSR Congress allegedly spread significant misinformation before 2019, successfully gaining power that year. However, the party was decisively rejected again in 2024 as the Andhra Pradesh public sided with the TDP+ alliance, dissatisfied with YCP's governance over the past five years.
Despite their defeat, YCP has persisted in their approach of spreading misinformation and propaganda. Recently, their official Twitter handle launched a "Fake Brahmastra" against the TDP+ government, claiming a new liquor brand named 999 Power Star had been introduced in AP. The handle shared fabricated videos of 999 Power Star liquor bottles and accused the TDP+ government of selling counterfeit liquor under false names, implying it was linked to Pawan Kalyan.
However, it has come to light that the Power Star liquor brand was actually introduced during Jagan's tenure as CM in 2022 and approved by the YCP government at that time. Pawan Kalyan himself had mocked Jagan for naming a liquor brand after him. Supporters of the TDP+ alliance are circulating government notifications confirming the introduction of Power Star liquor in 2022 by the YCP government. Despite this evidence, the YCP handle has not retracted their tweet and continues to spread false information.
