Income Tax Department Raids Pushpa 2 Director Sukumar’s Home and Office
The Income Tax Department has extended its scrutiny to Pushpa 2: The Rule director Sukumar, following raids on the properties of the film's producers, Ravi Shankar and Naveen Yerneni. On Wednesday, Sakshi Post reported that the IT department conducted raids at Sukumar’s residences and offices.
According to reports, the operation began early in the morning and lasted several hours, with IT officials reportedly escorting Sukumar from the airport to his home. However, the reason behind the raids has not been officially confirmed, and no statement has been released by the authorities. There is speculation about whether the investigation is related to the financials of Pushpa 2: The Rule, the blockbuster film starring Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna, and Fahadh Faasil.
Meanwhile, raids have also been carried out at the offices and homes of other producers involved in the film, including Dil Raju of Sri Venkateswara Creations and Ravi Shankar and Naveen Yerneni of Mythri Movie Makers. Raju’s wife, Tejaswini, shared with the press that the IT department had requested their financial statements after she was seen at a bank in Hyderabad. A digital marketing company connected to the producers has also come under investigation.

Sukumar, a former mathematics and physics lecturer turned director, began his career as a writer before making his directorial debut with the 2004 hit Arya, starring Allu Arjun. Known for his distinctive filmmaking style, Sukumar has directed several successful films including 100% Love, 1: Nenokkadine, Nannaku Prematho, and Rangasthalam. In recent years, Pushpa: The Rise and Pushpa 2: The Rule have consumed much of his focus. Sukumar is also set to direct a film starring Ram Charan, their second collaboration after Rangasthalam, though the film has yet to begin production.
