In Andhra Pradesh, the engineering admissions process has been delayed. As part of the engineering counseling, they have provided the opportunity for online registration from July 24 to August 3. The web options process for seat allocation in colleges will begin from August 3. They announced that candidates can exercise web options from August 7 onwards.
The registration process for online counseling will be open until August 6. Due to the delay in the web options process, the dates for seat allocation and college reporting have also been changed. The engineering classes, which were supposed to start from August 16, have also been postponed, as informed by Andhra Pradesh State Higher Education Council Chairman Hemachandra Reddy.
The government in the state fixes the fees for engineering colleges every three years. However, this time, some college managements approached the High Court against the fees being fixed too low. Currently, the court is conducting a hearing on this matter. It is being considered to set the minimum fee at 45,000 INR, according to the discussions in the court.
Once the case is fully heard, there is no clarity on whether there will be any changes in the fees. According to the court's information, the decision to finalize the new fees lies with them. If the fees are fixed, students have the opportunity to choose colleges that are favorable to them. With this, the officials have postponed the counseling process.
