A fire broke out in the new secretariat built by the Telangana government . On receiving the information, firemen extinguished the fire with 11 fire engines. Police suspect that the fire may have started during wood work. The cause of the fire is being investigated. On the other hand, CM KCR is going to start the new secretariat on 17th of this month. With this, the work of the secretariat is taking shape rapidly. The fire broke out while the work was going on.
The total area of Telangana Secretariat is 28 acres. Out of which 10, 51,676 square feet of building has been constructed. The height of this building is 265 feet. It is one of the tallest buildings in the country. The total height of the building, including the National Emblem, is 278 feet.
The building appears to be 11 stories tall but has only six floors. Built in Deccan and Kakatiya style, this building has 2 main domes and 34 small domes. It has been built with Telangana tradition along with modern touches. It was decided in September last year to name this administrative building after Dr. Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar, the creator of the Constitution.
This building was completed in a very short time even though it was built on a huge area. On June 27, 2019, CM KCR laid the foundation stone for the construction of the new secretariat. Demolition of old buildings started in July 2020. It took four months to clear the debris. At the same time, 14 thousand tons of debris were removed.

తెలంగాణ సెక్రటేరియట్‌ మొత్తం విస్తీర్ణం 28 ఎకరాలు. ఇందులో 10, 51,676 చదరపు అడుగుల్లో భవనాన్ని నిర్మించారు. ఈ భవనం ఎత్తు 265 అడుగులు. దేశంలోనే అతి ఎత్తైన భవనాల్లో ఇది ఒకటి. ఈ భవనంపై ఏర్పాటు చేస్తున్న జాతీయ చిహ్నాన్ని కూడా కలిపితే మొత్తం ఎత్తు 278 అడుగులవుతుంది.
11 అంతస్తుల ఎత్తులో ఈ భవనం కనిపిస్తుంది కాని ఇందులో ఉన్నవి ఆరు అంతస్తులు మాత్రమే. డెక్కన్‌, కాకతీయ శైలిలో నిర్మించిన ఈ భవనానికి 2 ప్రధాన గుమ్మటాలు, 34 చిన్న గుమ్మటాలు ప్రత్యేక ఆకర్షణ. తెలంగాణ సంప్రదాయంతో పాటు ఆధునిక హంగులతో దీన్ని నిర్మించారు. ఈ పరిపాలనా సౌధానికి రాజ్యాంగ నిర్మాత డాక్టర్‌ భీమ్‌రావ్‌ రామ్‌జీ అంబేడ్కర్‌ పేరు పెట్టాలని గతేడాది సెప్టెంబర్‌లోనే నిర్ణయించారు.
భారీ విస్తీర్ణంతో నిర్మించినప్పట్టికీ అతి తక్కువ సమయంలోనే ఈ భవనాన్ని పూర్తి చేశారు. కొత్త సచివాలయ నిర్మాణానికి జూన్‌ 27, 2019న సీఎం కేసీఆర్ శంకుస్థాపన చేశారు. జూలై 2020లో పాత భవనాల కూల్చివేత మొదలైంది. శిధిలాల తొలగింపు పనులకే నాలుగు నెలలు పట్టింది. ఏకంగా 14వేల టక్కుల లోడ్ల శిధిలాలు తొలగించారు.
