Matthew Binnicker, the Director of Clinical Virology at the Mayo Clinic, emphasized that preventing long Covid hinges on avoiding infection, making these updated vaccines an indispensable tool in the ongoing fight against Covid-19. He underscored that these vaccines not only reduce the risk of contracting Covid-19 but also the likelihood of developing long Covid, while also lessening their overall impact.

Initially developed by Moderna and Pfizer-BioNTech, the vaccines have now been adapted to stimulate antibodies targeting the latest subvariants of the Omicron strain. According to Dave Wessner, a biology professor at Davidson College in the United States, it's expected that updated Covid-19 shots will continue to be released periodically in the foreseeable future.

Dr. Omer Awan, Professor and Vice Chair of Education at the University of Maryland School of Medicine, emphasized that in tandem with these new vaccines, the protein-based Novavax, which recently received approval, should target evolving subvariants of Omicron and potentially reduce the severity of illness and hospitalizations.

Additionally, a recent study suggested that dietary creatine might alleviate long Covid symptoms. Creatine supplements, known for their benefits in strength enhancement and post-workout recovery, were examined by researchers at the University of Agder in Norway. The study, involving 12 individuals, demonstrated that a three-month dietary creatine regimen substantially improved feelings of fatigue."
