Kiran Abbavaram in ‘Dil Ruba’ – A Triangle Love Story
After the success of his last film Ka, Kiran Abbavaram has gained a strong following among the audience. With this momentum, his latest film Dil Ruba created a lot of buzz before release. The posters and trailers raised expectations. But did the movie live up to the hype? Did Kiran deliver another hit? Let’s find out in this review.
Story:
Siddhu Reddy (Kiran Abbavaram) loves his childhood friend Maggie (Kathy Davison). However, when he trusts a friend in business and gets betrayed, the shock leads to his father’s death. At the same time, Siddhu and Maggie break up. Heartbroken, Siddhu decides never to say "sorry" or "thank you" again in his life.
To move on, Siddhu joins an engineering college in Bengaluru, where he falls for Anjali (Rukshar Dhillon). Due to an incident at college, Siddhu and Anjali get separated. When Maggie learns about this, she returns from the USA to reunite them. Will she succeed? Why did Maggie break up with Siddhu in the first place? This forms the rest of the story.
Analysis:
Dil Ruba is a love triangle, but the weak storyline makes it uninteresting. The screenplay lacks depth, and the story revolves entirely around the hero. The movie feels slow, and while the first half is decent, the second half drags. Siddhu’s "no sorry, no thanks" concept isn’t convincing.
Many scenes make the audience feel that a simple "sorry" could have solved everything, reducing interest in the upcoming events. The emotional depth is missing, and the dialogues feel unnatural, especially those inspired by social media quotes. The college backdrop had potential for engaging scenes, but the director failed to utilize it.
Comedy relief from Satya could have made the movie more entertaining, but his role is underdeveloped. The second half feels heavy and predictable. The villain’s role is also disappointing, adding to the film’s weaknesses. Overall, Dil Ruba fails to thrill or engage the audience.
Performances & Technical Aspects:
Kiran Abbavaram does his best, but his role lacks freshness. Rukshar Dhillon brings energy, while Kathy Davison’s character has limited scope. The dialogues try to imitate Puri Jagannadh’s style but lack impact. The music by Sam CS is decent in two songs, and Daniel Vishwas’ cinematography adds color to the film. The production values are good.
Final Verdict:
After Ka, Kiran Abbavaram’s Dil Ruba is a disappointment due to its weak story, lack of strong emotions, and minimal entertainment. The film fails to impress, making it a letdown for fans.
