Crypto Fraud: Jagityal Residents Scammed of ₹70 Lakhs in Cryptocurrency Scheme

A major scam has come to light in Jagitial. Victims have raised concerns after alleging that a person named Rakesh defrauded them of nearly Rs. 70 lakhs under the guise of a cryptocurrency business. The victims claim that Rakesh convinced them to invest in a company called Metafund. They said that Rakesh took Rs. 7 lakhs from them and made investments totaling up to Rs. 70 lakhs from others.

As the invested money failed to return, the victims confronted Rakesh. They expressed their anger, stating that for the past 8 months, Rakesh has been evading them with excuses like "tomorrow" and "next time." When some of the victims went to Rakesh's house, they found he was not there, leading them to protest.

In response, Rakesh's family members called the police using the 100 helpline. The police arrived at the scene and advised the victims to file a formal complaint.

Upon learning of the issue, Rakesh spoke with the victims and promised to return the full amount if they gave him some more time. As a result, the victims left without filing a complaint with the police. The victims, however, accused Rakesh of constantly evading them when they asked for their money. Since the victims did not file a complaint, no formal case has been registered yet.
