CPI MLA Requests Power Subsidy for Telangana Weavers

Rajanna-Sircilla: CPI State Secretary Kunamneni Sambashiva Rao Supports Weavers on Hunger Strike
On Sunday, CPI State Secretary and Kothagudem MLA Kunamneni Sambashiva Rao visited Sircilla to show support for powerloom weavers who are currently on hunger strike.
During his visit, Rao emphasized the need for power subsidies for weavers, suggesting they should be classified under the fourth tariff category. He also called for the government to recognize the exceptional skills of Sircilla weavers, particularly those who create intricate sarees, and to place orders for Bathukamma sarees with them.
Rao highlighted that approximately 25,000 powerloom workers have been unemployed for the past seven months due to a lack of government orders. To address this, he urged private textile industries to provide orders to Sircilla weavers to help generate employment.
He also advised the protesters to avoid extreme actions, reminding them of the potential impact on their families.
