BPCL is preparing to present a proposal for a new petrochemical complex

In Vijayawada, BPCL's delegation, headed by Chairman and Managing Director Krishna Kumar, met Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu at the Secretariat to discuss plans for establishing a petrochemical complex and oil refinery in Andhra Pradesh.
Naidu affirmed Andhra Pradesh as an optimal choice for investments and assured BPCL of land allocation necessary for the project. The Petroleum Corporation plans to invest Rs 60,000 crore in the state for setting up an oil refinery and petrochemical complex, requiring 4,000 to 5,000 acres of land.
Naidu committed to expedite the land allocation within 90 days upon submission of a detailed project proposal by BPCL. The discussions follow Naidu's recent visit to New Delhi, where he deliberated with Union Minister of Petroleum and Gas, Hardeep Singh Puri, on establishing a refinery as per the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act.
Additionally, Naidu engaged with Pham Nhat Vuong, CEO of VinFast, inviting the company to establish their electric vehicle and battery manufacturing units in the state. He directed the industries department to facilitate the process of identifying suitable land parcels for VinFast's project, anticipating a fruitful collaboration.
