AP Inter 1st Year Now Has 6 Subjects: Students Will Pass Even If They Fail One Subject

AP Intermediate Board: New Changes in Inter 1st Year Subjects

The Andhra Pradesh State Intermediate Board has introduced several changes in the Inter 1st Year system. Now, students will have to choose 6 subjects instead of 5. However, the board has clarified that passing the 6th subject is not mandatory. Students need to pass only 5 subjects to get their regular pass memo.

Subjects Overview:

  1. Part 1: English

  2. Part 2: Telugu, Sanskrit, Arabic, and Group subjects

  3. Part 3: Group subjects selected by the student

Group Choices:
If a student chooses the MPC group, they will study Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry. If they select Biology as their 6th subject, passing Biology is not mandatory. As long as they pass the other 5 subjects, they will receive a pass memo.

Languages & Optional Subjects:
There are 24 possible subjects, including language subjects and optional group subjects. For instance, if a student chooses Biology in the MPC group, they must pass it in order to move forward.

Eligibility for Engineering and Medical:
With these changes, MPC students will be eligible for both JEE (Engineering) and NEET (Medical) exams. This change also aligns with the NCERT syllabus and introduces new exam patterns.
