Many fishermen depend on the sea for their livelihood. Even if they hunt in the sea for days, they get a small amount of income. But sometimes luck also gets caught in their net. Throwing nets for ordinary fish, rare, vein-popping fish are found. Recently, a fisherman's crop was harvested in Antarvedi, Konaseema district.
 
A fisherman from Antarvedi village was overjoyed when a 26 kg male fish was caught in his net. The reason for that is the cost of the fish caught in his net. This fish was auctioned at Antarvedi Mini Harbor Market and fetched literally two lakh ten thousand rupees. Experts say that Kachidi fish, also known as crocodile fish, fetches the highest price in the international market due to its high medicinal value.

అంతర్వేది గ్రామానికి చెందిన ఒక మత్స్యకారుడి వలకు 26 కేజీల కచిడి మగ చేప చిక్కడంతో అతడి ఆనందానికి అవధుల్లేవు. అందుకు కారణం అతడి వలకు చిక్కిన చేప ధరే. ఈ చేపని అంతర్వేది మినీ హార్బర్ మార్కెట్ లో వేలం వేయగా అక్షరాలా రెండు లక్షలా పదివేల రూపాయలు పలికింది. క్రోకడ్‌ ఫిష్‌ అని కూడా పిలిచే కచిడి చేపలో మెడిసినల్‌ వాల్యూస్‌ అధికంగా ఉండడంతో అంతర్జాతీయ మార్కెట్లో ఇది అత్యధిక ధరపలుకుతోందంటున్నారు నిపుణులు.
