A major robbery took place on the Rayalaseema Express traveling from Nizamabad to Tirupati. The incident occurred at around 1:30 AM near Gutti in Anantapur district. The train had been halted on the outskirts of Gutti to allow a clear passage for the Amaravati Express.

At that time, five assailants who had already been lying in wait entered the train. They carried out the robbery across ten coaches, stealing passengers' gold, cash, and other valuable items. Victims of the robbery have lodged complaints with the Tirupati Railway Police regarding the incident.
