Jayaprakash Narayan (JP) is a well-known figure in the Telugu states, famous for his role as an IAS officer and his political work with Lok Satta. Recently, he shared some interesting details about his personal life in an interview.

Early Life and Family

Although JP was born in Andhra Pradesh, he spent some time in Maharashtra during his childhood. He recalled how he was sent to live with his grandmother in Andhra Pradesh later on.

"My father worked in the railways, and my mother had a difficult delivery with me. I was the eldest child, followed by a brother and a sister. Unfortunately, my sister passed away when she was very young. I don’t remember the exact age, but I was under three years old when she passed away," JP shared.

Career and Education

JP mentioned that one of his brothers retired from the railways, while another practices law in Hyderabad. He revealed that he was quite overweight during his childhood but lost weight after joining college due to limited food in the hostel.

JP’s Influence in Politics

Known for his integrity and reformist approach, JP made a mark in politics by founding Lok Satta, a platform dedicated to political reform. His unique approach to politics has made him a respected figure, even though he remains less active in the political scene today.
