Rohit Sharma Sets New IPL Milestone Against CSK
The 18th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) continues to bring exciting matches for cricket fans. In a big clash on Sunday, Mumbai Indians (MI) defeated Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by 9 wickets in a one-sided game.
This win has helped MI stay in the race for the playoffs. On the other hand, CSK’s chances of qualifying are now very low. They have won only 2 out of 8 matches so far and are at the bottom of the points table.
The hero of the match was Rohit Sharma. He played a brilliant unbeaten knock of 76 runs and helped Mumbai chase the target easily. For his performance, Rohit won the Player of the Match award.
This was Rohit’s 20th Player of the Match award in IPL history. With this, he now has the most POTM awards by any Indian player in IPL. He is third on the all-time list, behind AB de Villiers (25) and Chris Gayle (22). Virat Kohli is next with 19 awards.
Rohit Sharma also reached another big record. He went past Shikhar Dhawan (6,769 runs) to become the second-highest run-scorer in IPL history, with 6,786 runs. Virat Kohli remains at the top with 8,326 runs.
