Story

Muthuvel Pandian, known as Muthu (Rajinikanth), has retired from his role as a prison warden and now leads a modest life with his family. Among them, Muthu's son Arjun (Vasanth Ravi) serves as an earnest police officer. Arjun finds himself in a confrontation with Varma (Vinakayan), a trafficker of ancient artifacts and religious idols. The situation takes a somber turn when Arjun mysteriously vanishes, sending shockwaves through the police force.

As the mystery surrounding Arjun's disappearance deepens, Muthu uncovers the distressing truth that his son has been murdered. Driven by grief and a thirst for justice, Muthu embarks on a relentless mission of retribution. In the course of his vendetta, Muthu stumbles upon a startling revelation that reshapes his trajectory. Verdict:

On the whole, Jailer is a partially engaging action drama that relies majorly on the performance and style of Rajinikanth. Superstar was stunning in his role, and the movie has a nice first half. But Jailer suffers from a wafer-thin plot, and the second half fell like a pack of cards. Hence Jailer ends up being just an okay watch, and it is suggested to keep your expectations in check.

Jailer is a commercial entertainer. After a high first half, the second one slows down a bit. Nelson’s comedy worked well in the first and a bit farcical in the 2nd. Rajinikanth is a strength and saving grace. He is back in his elements throughout the film. Superstars Mohanlal and Sivaraj Kumar’s cameo is a bonus. Anirudh’s BGM is another strength. Go and Watch it.
