Three Children Die from Food Poisoning After Eating Hostel Food in Visakhapatnam Several Others Also Affected

VISHAKHAPATNAM: Three children have tragically died from food poisoning after eating a meal at a hostel operated by the Parisundhatma Agni Stuthi Aradhana Trust (PASA Trust) in Kailasa Patnam, Kotavuratla Mandal, Narsipatnam Division of Anakapalle district. The victims, who included two girls and one boy, were among 27 children who fell ill after consuming biryani served on Sunday afternoon.
The hostel, which houses 86 children from grades one to five, reported that several children began vomiting shortly after the meal. Parents were alerted and took their children home. By Tuesday morning, the condition of some children deteriorated, leading to the deaths of two girls from Chintapalli Mandal and a boy from Koyyuru Mandal.
Five critically ill children were initially taken to Visakhapatnam's King George Hospital (KGH) on Monday morning. In total, seven children were admitted to Narsipatnam Area Hospital, with five later transferred to Visakhapatnam for further treatment. Sixteen other affected children are being treated at government hospitals in Chintapalli, Paderu, and Koyyuru.
Narsipatnam RDO H.V. Jayaram is managing the response at the Area Hospital. Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha and Speaker Ayyanna Patrudu have demanded that the district collector ensure proper medical care for the affected children and are closely monitoring the situation.
