Kancheepuram, Thirunelveli, Thiruvarur, Ramanathapuram, Tanjavur, Nagapattinam, Kanyakumari, Tuticorin, Tenkasi, Virudhunagar, Pudukottai, Thirunelveli, Shivagangai, Myladuthurai districts have reported heavy rainfall, prompting environmental authorities to issue alerts. The same weather conditions are expected to prevail today and tomorrow.

In light of the situation, several schools and colleges in Tamil Nadu have declared holidays. In the Nilgiris region, sections of railway tracks between Kallar and Coonoor have been inundated, leading to disruptions in train services.
