Unusual Move: Vegetable Seller Employs Bouncers to Safeguard Tomatoes

Unique Approach in Uttar Pradesh: Vegetable Seller Employs Bouncers to Manage Tomato Prices and Prevent Confrontations

In the Lanka area of Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, a vegetable seller has adopted a distinctive strategy to tackle the skyrocketing tomato prices and mitigate aggressive haggling among buyers. By hiring two bouncers to oversee his tomato cart, he aims to maintain order and discourage confrontations. The recent surge in tomato prices has made them a luxury item throughout the country.

Ajay Fauji, a Samajwadi Party worker, previously garnered attention for celebrating Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav's birthday by cutting a tomato-shaped cake in Varanasi.

Fauji explained that he decided to employ bouncers after noticing frequent arguments among people over tomato prices, even among customers at his own shop. His intention was to bring an end to these disputes by having bouncers in uniform stationed at his cart.

While he did not disclose the cost of hiring the bouncers, Fauji remarked that such services are not provided for free. When asked about the impact of the bouncers' presence, he mentioned that although the number of customers remained the same, their behavior towards pricing had become less aggressive.
