Union Minister Joshi Telangana CMs absence from NITI meeting unwise

HYDERABAD / KARIMNAGAR: Union Minister for Food and Public Distribution, Prahlad Joshi, criticized Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy for boycotting the NITI Aayog meeting. Joshi argued that any disagreements the Chief Minister might have should have been voiced at the meeting. "If the Chief Minister had any issues, he should have expressed them at the NITI Aayog meeting," Joshi remarked. He noted that the previous BRS government had taken a similar approach, which led to their rejection in both the Assembly and Parliament elections.
In a press conference in Hyderabad, Joshi highlighted that the Union Budget, formulated under the Modi-led NDA government, aims to create a "Viksit Bharat" by focusing on employment, skills development, MSMEs, and the middle class, ultimately targeting the welfare of all citizens.
Joshi also outlined significant investments for Telangana, including Rs 5,336 crore for railway projects, with plans to develop 40 railway stations as Amrit Bharat stations, and a Rs 60,000 crore road construction project, which includes the Regional Ring Road.
In Karimnagar, Minister of State for Home Affairs, Bandi Sanjay, accused the Congress government of adhering to BRS policies and opposing the Centre, despite the Union government’s willingness to cooperate on Telangana's development. Sanjay criticized Revanth for missing the NITI Aayog meeting and questioned how the Chief Minister could seek funds without participating in the discussion.
Sanjay condemned the Assembly's resolution against the Centre, which claimed neglect of Telangana in the Union budget. He countered by stating that the Centre had allocated Rs 10 lakh crore for various projects in Telangana over the past year and was gradually implementing the AP Reorganisation Act, with significant projects like the NTPC Ramagundam unit, involving Rs 11,000 crore, already underway.
