HYDERABAD: Revenue authorities have issued notices to several property owners with multistoried buildings constructed within the full tank level (FTL) and buffer zone near Durgam Cheruvu lake in Madhapur.
The notices, affixed to properties in the Madhapur Amar Cooperative Society, indicate that these buildings are situated in a non-development zone of the lake and must be removed within one month.
Similar notices have been issued by Rangareddy district officials to residents in Nectars Colony, Doctors Colony, Kavuri Hills, and Amar Society, all of which are adjacent to the lake. The notices, issued under Section 23(1) of the WALTA Act 1357 Fasli and relevant sections of the TS (TA) Irrigation Act, require that encroaching structures be voluntarily demolished within the specified timeframe. Failure to comply will result in the authorities carrying out the demolitions themselves.
Among the affected properties is one owned by A Tirupathi Reddy, the brother of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. Tirupathi Reddy’s residence, located in Madhapur Amar Cooperative Society, has been identified as falling within the FTL/buffer zone. Additionally, the area includes residences of various bureaucrats, retired officials, film actors, political leaders, businessmen, and celebrities. Further details are awaited.
