Team India Equals Netherlands' Record for Most Consecutive Toss Losses in ODIs!
- India has now lost the toss in 11 consecutive ODIs, equaling the Netherlands' record
- Since the 2023 World Cup final, Team India has failed to win a single toss
- Lost the toss against Bangladesh in the Champions Trophy, marking an unwanted record
Team India has now entered the record books for an unusual reason—losing the toss in 11 consecutive ODIs! Since the 2023 World Cup final on November 19, India has been unable to win a single toss. The Netherlands previously held this unwanted record, losing 11 consecutive tosses between March 2011 and August 2013, and now India has matched it.
Earlier this year, India lost the toss in all three ODIs against South Africa in December. The trend continued into 2024 as India failed to win the toss in the ODI series against Sri Lanka. Most recently, Rohit Sharma also lost all three tosses in the home ODI series against England.
If India loses the toss in one more match, they will officially surpass the Netherlands and set the record for the most consecutive toss losses in ODI history!
