VIJAYAWADA: Tata Group Chairman Natarajan Chandrasekaran met with Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu at the State Secretariat on Friday to discuss the future development of Andhra Pradesh.
Emphasizing the need to attract significant investments, the TDP-led NDA government has announced the formation of a Special Task Force. This Task Force, led by Naidu and co-chaired by Chandrasekaran, will include prominent industrialists and sector experts. Its goal is to provide strategic recommendations for advancing the state’s industrial development and realizing the vision of Swarna Andhra Pradesh by 2047.
During the meeting, Naidu and Chandrasekaran discussed strategies to position Andhra Pradesh as a leader in national growth by 2027. The Task Force will focus on actionable steps to achieve this ambitious target.
Additionally, the government plans to establish the Centre for Global Leadership (CGL) in Amaravati in partnership with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), with Tata Group as a key collaborator. A Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) Development Centre is also set to be developed in Visakhapatnam.
Naidu and Chandrasekaran also explored opportunities for expanding Air India and Vistara Airlines' presence in the state. Discussions included the establishment of solar energy, telecommunications, and food processing units.
HRD, IT, and Electronics Minister Nara Lokesh also met with Chandrasekaran, highlighting investment prospects in IT, renewable energy, and other sectors. Lokesh emphasized the state’s commitment to generating 20 lakh jobs over the next five years and assured enhanced incentives for companies investing in Andhra Pradesh.
Chandrasekaran expressed Tata Group’s readiness to invest and indicated that further discussions would follow in subsequent meetings.
