The Railway Department introduces an important decision to enhance the travel experience for passengers in general carriages. Affordable food and water facilities will now be provided. Food items will be available at platforms where the general coaches halt during station stops. Two meal categories are offered: one priced at 20 rupees, including seven puris, dry aloo (potato curry), and pickle, and the other priced at 50 rupees, offering various food options like Plain Rice, Rajma, Chole, Kichidi, Kulche, Bhature, Pav Bhaji, and Masala Dosa. This initiative will be implemented as a trial for the initial six months, along with 200 ml water glasses available at these counters.
