Patriotic enthusiasm fills IGMC Stadium in Andhra Pradesh as tableaux steal the show

VIJAYAWADA: The Independence Day celebrations at Indira Gandhi Municipal Corporation Stadium (IGMC) in Vijayawada were marked by a strong sense of patriotic spirit. The event drew a large crowd of schoolchildren who gathered to witness a grand police parade and a series of vibrant tableaux.
Following the hoisting of the tricolour by Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu, the parade was reviewed, showcasing an impressive display of march-past by various police contingents, NCC cadets, Bharat Scouts, and Guides.
A total of nine tableaux were presented, each representing different themes. Highlights included the agriculture department's float on “Natural Farming for a Better and Stable Future,” the animal husbandry float focused on “Farmer Welfare and Happiness, a Top Priority of the Government,” and the education department’s tableau promoting “Chandrababu Administration for Better Education.” Other notable floats included the medical and health department’s “Arogya Andhra Pradesh - Cancer-free State,” the SERP float on “Annadante Chestadanthe - Women’s Welfare is Chandranna’s Goal,” the industries department’s “Infusing New Enthusiasm into Andhra Pradesh for a New Epoch,” the housing department’s “Pucca Houses for All Eligible,” and the APCRDA float highlighting “Amaravati - People’s Capital.”
The Education department’s tableau secured first place, with the Animal Husbandry and Women and Child Welfare departments following closely.
Among the armed contingents, the 16th Battalion APSP from Visakhapatnam earned the top prize, with the 2nd Battalion of APSP from Kurnool in second place. A consolation prize was awarded to the Telangana State Police. In the unarmed category, the NCC boys took first place, followed by the AP Social Welfare Residential Schools contingent.
