Producer of “Mad Skyer” Reacts to Fake Collection Allegations – Calls It a Baseless Accusation

Producer Naga Vamsi made key comments regarding negative reviews on social media about the film Mad Skyer and the growing issue of movie piracy. He stated that some people were criticizing the film’s success, claiming it performed well only because it was a sequel. He also provided insights into how movie piracy occurs.

Piracy has become a major threat to the film industry. New films are being leaked online within hours of their release, causing significant financial losses to producers. Addressing this issue, Naga Vamsi revealed that Mad 2 had fallen victim to piracy, with overseas copies being leaked. He mentioned that some countries require censor approvals, and the copies sent for that purpose were identified as the source of the leak. He assured that stricter precautions would be taken to prevent such incidents in the future.

To combat piracy, they are tracking loopholes and plan to discuss the matter with the FDC and bring it to the government's attention. He also pointed out that some individuals were spreading false reports about the film’s box office collections, unable to accept its success. He openly challenged anyone with doubts about the collections to verify them and prove that fake numbers were reported. Mad 2 has so far collected over ₹70 crore at the box office.

“It is now very difficult to produce, promote, and sell a film to OTT platforms. A good movie like Court was watched because it was well-made, whereas a bad movie was ignored. Mad Skyer is being watched because it is a good film, not because another film failed. Many reviews claimed the second half was weak, but I personally saw the audience enjoying it. Do reviewers know better than the audience? Stop saying content-less movies are succeeding,” said Naga Vamsi.
