Martyrs Honored on Kargil Vijay Diwas

RAJANNA-SIRCILLA/ADILABAD: On Kargil Vijay Diwas, commemorations took place in Sircilla and Adilabad to honor the valor of the Kargil War martyrs.
In Sircilla, the day was observed at the Kargil War Tank, a significant landmark on the town’s outskirts. The ‘Vijayanta’ battle tank, which played a role in the 1999 Kargil War against Pakistan, was brought to Sircilla in 2014 with the approval of the Home and Defence Departments. It has since become a symbol of tribute and pride for the town.
On Friday, students and local residents gathered around the tank to pay their respects to the fallen soldiers. They unfurled the national flag and participated in ceremonies to honor the martyrs.
In the erstwhile Adilabad district, the observance took place at the municipal park in Adilabad town. District Cooperative Central Bank Chairman A Bhoja Reddy, along with Congress leaders and activists, paid tribute to the statue of the Kargil martyrs. This year marked 25 years since their sacrifice, and the occasion was used to remember their contributions and reaffirm the promise that their heroism will never be forgotten.
