Legal Action Against KT Rama Rao and Two Former BRS MLAs for Drone Flight Over Medigadda

BHUPALPALLY: The Mahadevpur police have filed a case against BRS working president KT Rama Rao, former MLAs Gandra Venkata Ramana Reddy and Balka Suman, and other party leaders for flying a drone over the Lakshmi Barrage at Medigadda in Jayashankar Bhupalpally district. The incident occurred on July 29 when KT Rama Rao visited the barrage with his MLAs and party activists. A video captured by the drone, which later went viral on social media, allegedly misrepresented the condition of the barrage, part of the Kaleshwaram project, leading to claims of damage.
Irrigation officials, concerned about the video's impact and the unauthorized drone flight, decided to take legal action. Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) Vali Shaik from the ISD5 Medigadda filed a complaint with the Mahadevpur police. The complaint asserts that the drone was flown without the necessary permissions or notifications, posing a potential risk to the barrage.
Mahadevpur Sub-Inspector K. Pavan Kumar confirmed that a case has been registered under Section 223(b), r/w 3(5) BNS, and the investigation is ongoing.
