Khammam: Young Engineer Ends Life Due to Betting Debt
A 27-year-old engineer, M.D. Azizuddin from Khammam, took his own life after falling into massive debt due to online and offline betting. While working in Hyderabad, he borrowed money at high interest rates, leading to financial distress. With ₹22 lakh in debt, he quit his job and returned home. Despite seeking help from his father, he succumbed to pressure, sent a suicide video to his father at midnight, and hanged himself. Police have registered a case and started an investigation.
Addiction to Betting Led to Financial Ruin
Although Azizuddin had a stable job after completing his engineering, he became addicted to online and offline betting. Initially losing small amounts, he started borrowing large sums at high interest rates, hoping to recover his losses.
Debt Pressure Drove Him to Suicide
With ₹22 lakh in debt, he eventually quit his job and asked his father for financial help. When his father asked for more time, Azizuddin, unable to handle the pressure, sent a suicide video to his father at midnight and ended his life.
