PARAWADA: Following a recent devastating explosion at a pharmaceutical unit in Anakapalli district, another fire broke out on Friday at a factory in Parawada, resulting in serious injuries to four workers.
Anakapalli Superintendent of Police M. Deepika Patil reported that the fire started around 1 a.m. at Synergene Active Ingredients Pvt Ltd, located in Jawaharlal Nehru Pharma City (JN Pharma City).
Patil confirmed that no fatalities occurred in the incident. "It was a flash fire caused by a chemical reaction involving a chemical power and liquid. The vapors ignited due to static electricity, and four workers from Jharkhand were present in the room," she told PTI. The situation is now under control.
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has since inquired about the incident and instructed officials to ensure that the injured receive proper medical treatment. Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha has also been directed to visit the victims.
Synergene Active Ingredients, headquartered in Hyderabad's Jubilee Hills, operates two units and Jaahnavee Life Sciences in JN Pharma City, employing approximately 600 people.
This latest incident follows a tragic vapour cloud explosion at a private pharmaceutical unit in Atchutapuram, Anakapalli district, on August 21, which resulted in 17 deaths and injured around 40 workers.
