CM Revanth Yechurys Passing a Irreparable Loss to Indian Politics

HYDERABAD: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy expressed profound shock and sorrow over the death of CPM General Secretary Sitaram Yechury on Thursday, calling his passing an irreparable loss to Indian politics.
Conveying his heartfelt condolences to Yechury's family, the Chief Minister praised the late leader’s enduring spirit, which served as an inspiration to many. Revanth highlighted Yechury’s extensive political career, noting his active involvement in national politics for over four decades. He commended Yechury not only for his role as a CPM politburo member and seasoned politician but also for his contributions as a Rajya Sabha member, economist, and social worker.
A number of political leaders expressed their grief over Yechury’s demise, including Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and ministers N. Uttam Kumar Reddy, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, and D. Anasuya (Seethakka).
At a condolence meeting held at MB Bhavan, CPM leaders S. Veeraiah, Cherukupalli Sitaramulu, G. Nagaiah, Julakanti Rangareddy, and M. Srinivas paid tribute to Yechury, acknowledging his pivotal role in the formation of the INDI Alliance against the BJP and his leadership in various people’s movements across the country.
BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao expressed his sadness on X, stating: “Deeply saddened by the passing of towering political figure and veteran Marxist leader, Sri @SitaramYechury Garu. His unwavering commitment to social justice, equality, and the working class will continue to inspire generations.” He extended his heartfelt condolences to Yechury’s family, friends, and followers.
Former Minister T. Harish Rao also mourned Yechury’s death, describing him as a strong leader and a champion of social justice. He added, “His dedication to the people and the nation will always be remembered. My heartfelt condolences to his family and followers. India has lost a great leader.”
AIMIM chief and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi took to X to share his condolences: “Deeply saddened to hear of Sitaram Yechury’s passing. He was a consistent advocate for secularism, social justice, and democracy. We were both part of the All Party Delegation to Kashmir in 2016. My sincere condolences to his family, colleagues, and comrades.”
