VIJAYAWADA: Eluru Range Inspector General of Police (IG) GV Ashok Kumar has confirmed that no hidden cameras were found in the girls' hostel washroom at Seshadri Rao Gudlavalleru Engineering College.
At a press conference held at the Krishna district SP office in Machilipatnam on Thursday, IG Ashok Kumar stated that the investigation, conducted by three IG-ranked officers and technical experts, did not reveal any cameras in the hostel bathroom as alleged by students.
The IG also noted that expert teams from the Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT) and the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) thoroughly examined the mobile phones, laptops, and other electronic devices of the suspected students. “Our investigation did not uncover any cameras in the bathrooms. For the first time, we utilized CERT and C-DAC teams to address the concerns of students, parents, and student associations. A report from CERT will be submitted to the State government regarding the investigation,” he explained.
Additionally, IG Ashok Kumar mentioned that 14 mobile phones, six laptops, and one tablet were seized and subjected to technical inspection.
