Hyderabad: Kazipet Railway Station Redevelopment Progressing Under Amrit Bharat Scheme
The South Central Railway (SCR) is redeveloping Kazipet Railway Station as part of the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme (ABBS) at a cost of ₹24.45 crore. The project focuses on improving passenger comfort and modernizing the station's infrastructure. With 40% of the work already completed, the redevelopment is expected to be finalized by the end of this financial year.
Key Enhancements Under the Project:
- A redesigned station building façade featuring an entrance portico.
- A 12-metre wide Foot Over Bridge (FOB) equipped with two lifts and two escalators.
- Upgraded platforms with additional covered areas and improved toilets, including facilities for differently-abled passengers.
- Enhanced waiting halls, landscaping, and traffic circulation.
- Artistic and cultural depictions within the station premises.
- Better passenger-friendly signage, train indication boards, and coach indication boards.
The redevelopment aims to provide a world-class travel experience for passengers while preserving the local culture and ensuring accessibility for all.
