Veeraraghava Reddy Confesses to Attacking Priest Rangarajan

Police Continue Probe in Attack on Chilkur Balaji Temple’s Chief Priest

Police are still investigating the attack on C.S. Rangarajan, chief priest of the Chilkur Balaji Temple. So far, six people have been arrested, including the main accused, Veeraraghava Reddy, founder of the Ramrajyam organization. Sixteen other suspects are still on the run. Multiple cases have been filed against Reddy at the Abids, Golconda, and Banjara Hills police stations. In total, 22 people have been identified as accused in the case. According to the remand report, Reddy confessed to the crime during police questioning.

The investigation revealed that Reddy met with Rangarajan in January to propose a plan, but Rangarajan did not respond as expected. On January 25, Reddy held a meeting at Penugonda Temple, followed by another meeting on February 4 in Dammaiguda, where they planned the attack. On February 7, the accused went to Rangarajan’s home, issued threats, and later attacked him. They also recorded the incident and shared the footage online.
