Nandamuri Balakrishna Receives Padma Bhushan Award from President Droupadi Murmu
Famous Telugu actor and Hindupur MLA, Nandamuri Balakrishna, received the prestigious Padma Bhushan Award for his outstanding service to Indian cinema and society. The award was presented by President Droupadi Murmu at the Padma Awards ceremony held at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi. Balakrishna attended the event in traditional Telugu attire, Pancha Kattu, and became the center of attention. His family members were also present during this proud moment.
The Government of India recognized Balakrishna’s significant contributions to the film industry and public service, and selected him for this Padma Bhushan honor. Apart from being a successful actor, he is also the Chairman of Basavatarakam Indo American Cancer Hospital, where he supports cancer treatment and patient care. These social services, along with his film journey, earned him this national award.
Balakrishna, the son of legendary actor and former Chief Minister Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao (NTR), has acted in over 100 films and earned a special place in the hearts of Telugu audiences. He continues to act in movies with energy and passion, often in mass, action, mythological, historical, and social roles. In the past, he has won several awards, including Filmfare and Nandi Awards, and now adds the Padma Bhushan to his list of achievements.
